THE SCHOOL DAY
On arrival, you can inform me of where I am
working from. I can work from the classroom or in a
hall. If I am in the classroom then the children can
stay sitting at their desks where I can take the
animals to them. If you believe that the children
sit better on the floor then I will form a
semi-circle with them. In the hall I can either sit
them on benches in a semi-circle which I will
arrange on arrival, or again on the floor depending
on the staffs preference.
On arrival I also need to be made aware of any pupil
that has an allergy to nuts and anyone who has
special needs.
I run with the school timetable or if we have
previously arranged a different timetable then this
can be given to me on the day. The timetable only
needs to be simple and say what lessons I am
teaching, where and at what times. When writing the
timetable, I do not need a morning break just a
break for lunch. In the day I can teach several
different lessons.
With around 10 animals that I bring, most are put
into one large box which I carry. This box does not
take up much space. I need one teacher present at
all times to assist me in keeping the pupils calm
and quiet. This is so the animals do not get scared
but mostly so the children can hear my voice as I am
teaching.
With these simple requirements in place, the day
will run very smoothly and everyone will have a
great time. |
